Each one of us has a way in which we interpret the world we live in. Everything that happens to us is filtered through our unique lens or glasses. Our lens is shaped by past experiences, feelings, believes and judgments we hold true about ourselves and the world we live in.
For example, a hot plate of French fries are set on a table in front of three different people. One person sees the fries and immediately feels a sense of joy because French fries are a HUGE source of comfort. Next one remembers eating a plate French fries when their parents told them they were divorcing so seeing these fries brings up feelings of sadness while the last person may feel weak and undisciplined because they have no self -control when it comes to eating them.
Here is the thing… the fries have done nothing to you! They have no intention to harm you or make you happy. They are only potatoes that are fried! Most encounters we have are neutral. We attach our meaning to everything we see.
“WE GIVE MEANING TO EVERYTHING WE SEE”
It’s time to WAKE UP! It’s time to wake up to how you feel, what you think, and the judgments you have made up about every situation you encounter. When you manage your thoughts you then are able to manage their meaning!
You get to choose your reaction to everything and everyone! Just as you choose how every past experience you have affects the quality life. This is the real path to experiencing freedom.
“MANAGE YOUR THOUGHTS THEN YOU ARE ABLE TO MANAGE THEIR MEANING”
How are you managing the French fries in your life? Let’s talk about it!
